The story of Christmas is a wonderful story of the amazing love of God to humanity. Jesus is the central Theme in the story. The word Christmas was coined from the word ‘Christe Mass’ which means the celebration of a Christian feast or festival. It was first celebrated on December 25, 1038 AD.
However, the story did not just begin on earth at a remote village called Bethlehem in Israel a little over 2000 years ago. God coming in human form was a replay of events carefully planned by God in heaven before the world was created, “For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He (Jesus) was chosen before the creation of the world but was revealed in these last times for your sake” (1 Peter 1:18-20 NIV). This means that the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ had happened in heaven before the world was created. So the events of Bethlehem were just a replay on earth.
You may ask the question, “Why was it imperative for Jesus Christ to be born into this world?” The story goes back to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, a place of abundance and fellowship with God. This sweet fellowship was broken when Adam and Eve sinned and were driven away from Eden. The sin of Adam affected all human beings, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). This sin created a huge gap between God and man which must be bridged before fellowship could be restored. This was why God sent His son to the world at Christmas, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
God had to send His Son in human flesh (John 1:14; Philippians 2:8) because that was the only way man could understand His message. For example, how can a man warn an army of ants of impending danger of flood or fire that was about to destroy them? If he shouted, the ants could not understand. The only way he could communicate with the ants was to become an ant himself. This was precisely what God did, “God who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son (Jesus Christ) (Hebrew 1:1-2).
The mission of Jesus on earth was to reconcile God and man once again, “God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting their sins against them, (2 Corinthians 5:19 NIV). Do you hear that wonderful news? God is not counting your sins against you because He sent His son to you at Christmas to die in your place, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust that He might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). Because of this, we have been forgiven all the sins we have committed, “For He will abundantly (generously) pardon (Isaiah 55:7). This is the wonderful story of Christmas.
Friend, the one critical question God will ask everyone when we get to heaven is this, “What did you do with Jesus Christ, my wonderful gift at Christmas?.” When Jesus was to be born in Bethlehem, there was no room for Joseph and Mary in the inn. Jesus was therefore born in a manger. Over 2,000 years later today, millions of people have no rooms for Jesus in their lives although they participate enthusiastically in the festivities of the Christmas season. No vacancy sign is there.
How about you? Is there room in your life for Christ? If you accept Jesus now, you will spend eternity with Him in heaven in unspeakable joy full of glory. If you reject Him, you will spend eternity tormented and crying in hell fire with the devil (Matt. 25:41)). The decision is yours.
If you want to receive Jesus Christ, God’s wonderful gift at Christmas into your life, please pray this prayer sincerely, “Lord Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and you were raised for my justification. Forgive my sins and cleanse me with your precious blood. Come into my life and be Lord forever. Thank you Jesus for saving me”.

]]>I know something wonderful that I must tell you! It is so vital that it may change your entire future as it did mine. In fact, the decision you make about it will affect you both in life and death.
Let me emphasize that this message is absolutely true, because God said it. When God makes a promise you can rest upon it, because His promise, can never fail. God will not make you believe this message, that is your choice, but he will hold you responsible for having heard it.
It is a very personal message, something you must decide. You must say either. “I will” or “I will not”
Here is the message. It is an exact quotation from God’s word, the Holy Bible.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
Did you ever hear such wonderful words?
Think for a moment what they say. They reveal three marvelous facts.
First, “God so loved the world”! Since you are in the world. He loved you. If that doesn’t astonish you, remember, that when God loved you, He, loved a sinner! The Bible says that all have sinned (Romans 3:23). If you are honest, you will agree.
Although God loves you, He still hates your sin. Since God is holy. He must punish sin. He must make a holy way of saving sinners. Otherwise, the sinner must pay for his sins, and that would mean spending eternity in hell. (Revelation 20:15).
The second great fact is, ”He gave his only begotten Son”! God loved you so much, that He sent His Son to earth to become a man and die on the cross of Calvary, so that you might be saved.
You see, someone must pay the penalty of sin, either you or a sinless substitute. God gave His Son Jesus Christ that as your sinless substitute, He shed His blood so that your sins might be put away, so that you might have eternal life.
And now the third tremendous fact is, “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”! Think of it,! God gives eternal life to those who believe in Jesus Christ. The Saviour has “finished” the work. He died. He has risen from the grave, and He has gone back into heaven. Now your part is to believe in Him.
This simply means that you must agree that you are a sinner, realize that Christ has paid the full penalty for your sins, and then receive Him as your Lord and Saviour. This is the message which I had to tell you.
Now you must make a decision. Will you accept Him, or reject Him?: Will you believe on Him, or refuse Him?
Think of it once again:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
Your time on earth is short, but your decision for Christ lasts for eternity. Will you receive Jesus Christ as your Saviour and be confident of everlasting life?
If you want to receive Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, please pray this prayer sincerely from the bottom of your heart: “Lord Jesus, I believe that you died for my sins and you were raised for my justification. Pardon my sins and cleanse me with your precious blood. Come into my life and be Lord from henceforth. Thank you Jesus for saying me, Amen.”

]]>A popular African proverb states that there are many roads leading to the market or any destination. In the affairs of this world, this may be true to some extent. However, when considering the road to heaven, the proverb is very far from the truth. It is the faulty wisdom of men against which God clearly warned us, “that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God”. (1 Corinthians 2:5). There are not many routes, but only ONE WAY to heaven.
How do I know this? God’s word, the truth, which can never lie said so in clear and unambiguous terms several times. One time fearful Peter declared boldly before the Jewish leaders, “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Peter was referring to the name of Jesus. Salvation is freedom from Satan, sin and all his works into abundant life. For some who may still hold to the erroneous belief that there are many intermediaries between God and man, Paul the erudite lawyer, has a strong word for you, “For there is one God and ONE MEDIATOR between God and Men, the Man Christ (1 Timothy 2:5). Because of the seriousness of the matter, Paul even put a curse on anyone, including himself, who preaches any other way to be saved, “Let God’s curse fall on any one including myself, who preaches any other way to be saved than the one we told you about (Jesus), yet if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed (Galatians 1:8, New living Bible). The import of Paul’s message was that Jesus was God’s final messenger to humanity (Hebrews 1:2). To cap it all, Jesus Himself declared authoritatively, “I am THE WAY, the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Note that Jesus said, “I am The Way”, not one of the ways.
You may ask the question why is Jesus the only way to God? The story dates back to Adam and Eve. Before they sinned, there was a direct communication between God and man. As a result of their sin of disobedience to God’s command which affects all human beings (Romans 3:23), there was a complete disconnect between God and man because a holy God could not relate with sinful man, “But your iniquities have separated you from Your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2). Since without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin (Hebrews 9:22), God had to send His Son, Jesus to die in our place, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the Just for the unjust that He might bring us to God.” (1 Peter 3:18). Because Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins by His precious blood on the cross, we have been reconciled and reconnected to God, “that is, God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them” (2 Corinthians 5:19). This is why the name of Jesus became the only access route to God (Ephesians 2:18; 3:12).
In addition to this, Jesus parades unique and impressive credentials which no other religious founder could ever match. His birth was prophesied hundreds of years before hand. His character was impeccable and He had unequal compassion for suffering humanity. Among other things, He saved sinners, healed the sick, cleansed lepers, fed the hungry and cast out demons. Because Satan, death and hell bow to His name, He was able to raise many people from the dead. He demonstrated mastery over nature; He stilled the storm and walked on water. His death and resurrection were amazing. The bones of other religious founders are still in their graves. The tomb of Jesus is empty! The world had never recovered from the impact He made within a short period of thirty three and a half years.
Even sources outside the Bible confirm the above claims. Historians at the time, especially T.F. Josephus (37-100AD) documented the life and ministry of Jesus. In the 19th Century, a Roman record called “Archco Volume” was discovered in Constantinople. In it was found the report sent to Rome by Pilate who approved the crucifixion of Jesus, explaining why he approved the execution. Isn’t that amazing? Outside sources confirming the truth of the Bible.
Good things happen when you come to Jesus. He is the ONLY WAY in to God. He is the ONLY WAY out of your problems. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Accordingly, He changes your past, no matter how horrible; He enriches your present and secures your future. The power of Satan and his agents, witches, wizards etc is broken over you. He lavishes you with His blessings and meets all your needs. Above all, He takes you to heaven full of peace, joy and comfort.
Dear Reader, it is time for you to make a decision. Pilate, who approved the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, asked a question of eternal importance, “What shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” (Matthew 27:22), This is the one inescapable question God will ask everyone when we get to the other side, “What did you do with THAT NAME, the name of Jesus?”. If you accept Him now, you will spend eternity in heaven in peace, comfort, joy that cannot be expressed. If you reject Him, you will spend eternity in gloom, doom, sorrow, and pain too horrible to describe.
If you want to invite Jesus into your life, please pray this prayer sincerely: “Dear Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God and that there is no other name that can save except your name. You died for my sins; you rose again to save me. Forgive my sins. Cleanse me with your precious blood. Come into my life and be Lord for ever. Thank you Jesus for saving me”.

What is so surprising and tragic is that most people give more thought and preparations to journeys and relocations here on earth than they do their eternal destination, that is, the journey of no return which no one can escape . Many of us are like the king in an African folklore who gave his staff of office to the palace fool to hand over to a person he considered a greater fool than himself. Try as he might, the fool could not find anyone to give the staff to. Not long, the king was terminally ill and the fool asked him, “Your majesty, what preparations are you making for the journey of no return you are about to embark upon?” The king replied, “None.” Handing over the staff back to the king, the fool said, “You are the greatest fool I have ever seen.” What a great lesson!
This life is preparation for the next. Your death will not be the end of you. Your life will continue at the other end, in eternity. At most, you will live a hundred years on earth, but you will spend for ever in eternity. While life here on earth offers many choices, eternity offers only two: heaven or hell, “Many who have been long dead and buried will wake up, some to eternal life (heaven) others to eternal shame (hell) Daniel 12: 2 (Message). Your relationship to God on earth will determine your destination in eternity. If you have a relationship with God through His Son, Jesus Christ on earth, you will spend eternity with Him in heaven in unspeakable bliss and happiness. If not, you will spend eternity in the torment of hell fire too horrible to describe.
Why do you need to have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ to make heaven? The reason is that all human beings are in serious trouble with God because of the sin of Adam, the ancestor of all human beings, “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard” (Romans 3:23 NLT). The penalty for sin is death(Romans 6:23). However, God does not have pleasure in the death of a sinner(Ezekiel 33:11). Therefore, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die in our place, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the Just for the unjust that He may bring us back to God” ( 1 Peter 3:18). It was the death of Jesus Christ that reconciled us to God (2 Corinthians 5:19). By the death of Jesus Christ on the cross, all our sins have been wiped out because without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin (Hebrews 9:22).
Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people. Unlike the journey on earth, you don’t need to take anything along for the journey of no return, “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out” (1 Timothy 6:7).Everything you need had been prepared by Jesus Christ: “In my Father’s house, are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to PREPARE a place for you. ” (John 14:2).The PREPARATION you need to make is to surrender your life to Jesus. One inescapable question God will ask all of us when we get to the other side is,”What have you done with the gift of my Son Jesus Christ when you were on earth?”
Dear reader, you have to address this question here and right now.
Will you accept or reject Jesus? The decision is yours. The decision you make now will determine where you will spend eternity, in heaven or hell fire. If you want to surrender your life to Jesus, please pray this prayer sincerely from the bottom of your heart: “Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the Son of God. You died and rose again to save me? Forgive my sins and cleanse me with Your precious blood. Come into my life and be my Lord from henceforth. Thank You for saving me. Amen”.

How do I know? I know because Jesus Christ, who came from heaven and saw it all, said so many times in the Holy Bible which can never lie. He told us the story of two men, Lazarus and the rich man, who once lived and died (Luke 16: 19-31). Lazarus went to heaven, while the rich man went to hell. The rich man cried in hell, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame”(verse 24). Abraham replied, “but now he (Lazarus) is comforted and you are tormented”(verse 25).
From this passage, we can learn two important facts about heaven and hell. First, heaven is a place of comfort and everlasting joy for the RIGHTEOUS only. Heaven is the dwelling place of God. It is an incomparable place where the righteous will find total freedom from all problems, headaches, tragedies and disasters. There, “God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed”(Revelation 21:4). The streets are paved with pure gold (Revelation 21:21). The best five-star hotel in the world cannot in any way be compared with the mansions in heaven (John 14:2). There will be no night there and no need for light, God will be their light. (Revelation 22:5). No human words can adequately capture the glory and splendor of heaven.
Second, hell is a real place of everlasting torment or punishment for the UNRIGHTEOUS where “their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:46-48). God did not make hell fire for human beings. It was made for the devil and his angels (Matthews 25:41); but many people will go there because of unbelief and ignorance. It must be pointed out here that there is no intermediate state between heaven and hell. There is no purgatory where sins are purged, “And as it is appointed for men to die once but after this judgement “(Hebrew 9:27).
In His great mercy, God had permitted thousands all over the world to experience heaven and hell and come back to warn us. They include Robert Liardon, documented in his book, “I Saw Heaven”
(www.roberliardon.org)’ Mary Baxter, “A Divine Revelation of Heaven”(www.mbaxterdivinerevelation.org)’ Choo Thomas, “Heaven is So Real”(www.choothomas.org) and Augustus Chidozie of Nigeria who died for four days and came back to life. On top of these experiences, something extra-ordinary happened around 1989 in Russia which is reputed not to believe in God .A group of Russian scientists drilled a hole in Siberia to a depth of 9 miles (14 kilometres). The temperature deep down was 2000 oF (1,090 oC). Their microphones picked up the tormented screams of people deep down, thus confirming the account of the Bible that hell is below the earth (Ephesians 4:9-10).
The critical question any wise person should address is: “How do I
make heaven”? Jesus is the only way to heaven. He said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). He is the only Way to heaven because it was His death on the cross that reconciled us to God (2Corinthians 5:19). All human beings are sinners because of the sin of Adam, the ancestor of all human beings, (Romans 3:23). The penalty for sin is death (Romans 6:23); but God has no pleasure in the death of a sinner (Ezekiel 33:11). He therefore sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die in our place (1 Peter 3:18) because without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin (Hebrews 9:22). It is only the precious blood of Jesus that makes us RIGHTEOUS before God, not the work of our hands which are like a filthy rag before God (Isaiah 64:6)
Dear Reader, I invite you to surrender your life to Jesus so that you
can spend eternity with Him in heaven. If you reject Him, you will spend eternity in hell fire. The decision is yours. If you want to surrender your life to Jesus, please pray this prayer sincerely from the bottom of your heart: “Lord Jesus, I believe that You are the only Way to heaven. You died and rose again to save me. Forgive my sin and cleanse me with Your precious blood. Come into my life and be Lord for ever. Thank You for saving me. Amen.”

You cannot blame God; for it is not His will that any should perish; but have everlasting life(John 3:16).
You cannot blame Christ. For Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15). “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God”. (1 Peter 3:18).
You cannot say you are not a sinner. God says, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”. (Rom. 3:23).
You cannot say you kept his law; for God says, “whosoever shall keep the whole law , and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all” (James 2:10). The law, was given to show the need of a saviour. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin: (Romans 3:20).
You cannot excuse yourself saying, “I did the best I could, “I was a Church member, “I paid my dues, “I said my prayer, “I was not so bad” or possibly “God is too good to punish me in hell, I have done nothing worthy of that. “No, my friend, the best you can do is not good enough. The Bible says, “All our righteousness are as filthy rags (Isaiah 64:6). There is none that doeth good, no, not one.” (Roman 3:12); Not by works of righteousness which we have done but according to His mercy He saved us (Titus 3:5). You cannot say you have not been warned: God’s word is your warning and you are hearing it right now. He that believeth not in the name of the only begotten Son of God is condemned. (John 3:18).
You are left without an excuse. In the day of judgement will Christ acknowledge you as one of His children? Or will you hear the lawful final decree, depart from me, I never knew you?
You cannot say there is plenty of time to settle this matter, for God says, “Boast not thyself of tomorrow; for thou knowest not what a day bring forth (Proverbs 27:1). Behold, now is the accepted time, behold, now is the day of salvation: (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Confess your sins to God and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved.
You may say you do not believe all this, but that does not alter the facts one bit. The responsibility of spending eternity in hell is yours alone. Choice, not chance will determine your eternal destiny.
YOU WILL HAVE ONLY SELF TO BLAME if you do not come to Christ for forgiveness and salvation from sin. He has said. “Him that cometh to me, I will in no way cast out. (John 6:37). Come to Him today, and trust Him to save you from sin and its consequences.
If you want to receive Jesus you as your Lord and Saviour, please pray this prayer sincerely from the bottom of your heart: “Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. You died for my sins and you were raised for my justification. Pardon my sins and cleanse me with your precious blood. Come into my life and be Lord from henceforth. Thank you Jesus for saving me, Amen.

]]>Man would go to any length to cover up his sins. He could set a building on fire to cover up a fraud, kill and maim any possible witness provided he is not caught. He would destroy an unborn child than face up to an improper relationship. People who are involved in fraud, theft, murder, arson or misdeed of any form would admit that they would rather die or kill than be found out. As you can find out from the scriptures, no sin remains unknown.
Man’s desperate attempt to cover his sins calls to mind a story in one issue of a devotional booklet, Our Daily Bread. There was a man whose main business was smuggling. On one occasion while returning from his trip with a shipload of contraband goods, he sighted the anti-smuggling boat trailing him. He quickly alerted his crew, and tried to outrun the anti-smuggling Squad but soon discovered that sooner or later they would catch up with him.
When he lost view of pursuers, he ordered his crew to toss the illegal cargo overboard. In a swift manner all the bales of goods were hauled into the sea.
As it was dark the Squad could not see from afar what they were doing. A little later, the illumination from the Squad’s boat lit their trail and as they looked behind they discovered to their surprise that the cargo refused to sink.
The bales of goods were floating on the sea in a long row and these aided the Squad in locating them easily. He tried to cover the evidence of his crime but the bales of goods refused to sink.
This clearly illustrates the Scripture passage, which says, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy” Prov.28:13
Does this story remind you of that sin you tried to cover sometime? It may appear for a moment that you have succeeded but one day the “sea” will refuse to cooperate with you. The mountain will refuse to fall on it. The ground will refuse to swallow it. The more you struggle to cover it the more easily it will be exposed.
Listen, my friend, even that sin you think nobody knows about is not covered. Consider this Scripture, “ … but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account (Heb. 4: 13).
You cannot hide from God. He sees and knows every thing you do. If you will not face your sins and deal with them now, sooner than later they will find you out, and deal with you.
God hates sin and man has to pay for every sin he commits. The Bible says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Rom. 6:23).
The only way out is through Jesus Christ. If you confess your sins to the Lord right now, the blood of Jesus will wash these sins away, so much better than cover up. The Blood of Jesus is the only thing that can cover your sins permanently. Because it actually washes them away, leaving you cleansed and unstained. God is willing and ready to hear if you will open your mouth and pray. Please pray now.
“Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. You died and rose again to save me. Forgive my sins and cleanse me with your precious blood. Come into my life and be my Lord from henceforth. Thank you Jesus, for saving me. Amen.”

However, two conditions must be satisfied before the clemency could become valid. There must be an offer of pardon from the President and an acceptance by the criminal.
As expected, other condemned men jumped at the offer and accepted the pardon. They went home free and rejoicing into the warm embrace of their families. Surprisingly, the young man rejected the offer! Since the second condition of acceptance to make the pardon valid was not fulfilled, the man was executed. He died, not because pardon was not given; he died because he did not accept the pardon so freely given.
This true story clearly illustrates the relationship between God and man. All, like the condemned men, have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23). The sin we are talking about is inherited sin from Adam, the ancestor of all mankind. It is this sin that causes all other sins. God’s word, the Bible, explains: “Therefore, as through one man’s offence (sin), judgement came to all men, resulting in condemnation … ” (Romans 5: 18). This means that Adam sinned on our behalf and transferred the sin to us as the names of our biological ancestors are inherited from generation to generation. The holiness of God demands that sin must be punished because “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). So, all men, like the four men, are condemned criminals waiting for execution.
But God is a loving, gracious, merciful God, who has no pleasure in the death of a sinner (Ezekiel 33: 11 ). Hear how God demonstrated this attribute, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3: 16). Since you are in the world, God loves you. He does not want you to die. Therefore, He sent His Son Jesus to die in your place, “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). Because Jesus Christ paid the penalty for our sins by His precious blood, we have been pardoned” (Isaiah 55:7).
Dear reader, like the President of USA, God is graciously offering you pardon for your sins through Jesus Christ. But you must, by choice, accept the offer before it becomes valid. Like the other men in the story, millions have accepted the offer by faith in Christ Jesus and are now free and rejoicing. Do not like the young man reject the offer of pardon so graciously given, for, “how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation” (Hebrews 2:3). The penalty for rejecting this gracious offer of clemency, like the fourth man is death, that is, spending eternity in hell fire.
The choice is yours to make. Will you accept or reject the offer? If you want to accept this gracious offer of pardon, please pray this prayer sincerely from the bottom of your heart: “Lord Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God. You died and rose again to save me. Forgive my sins and cleanse me with your precious blood. Come into my life and be my Lord from henceforth. Thank you Jesus, for saving me. Amen.”
